Young Author Event Award
The IFAC Young Author Award at SyRoCo 2021 will be awarded for the best paper of which the first and presenting author satisfies the eligibility criterion and is the main contributor of the research results in the paper.
As eligibility criteria the conference/symposium organizers can choose between two alternatives:
a. an age criterion of max 30 years old at the time of the event, for the first and presenting author of a paper, with motivated exemptions on the age criterion to deal with gender and cultural differences so as to allow for a fair competition, or
The following submission/nomination procedure is followed that is supported by Papercept:
a. The award is announced on the website of the conference/symposium
b. Nominations are solicited through Papercept after the submission of papers has been closed.
c. No self-nominations are allowed. Nominations are typically made by supervisors or reviewers.
d. An awards selection committee, will be appointed by the IPC chair, which will select a number of finalists, on the basis of the nomination letters, the review reports, and the papers. Finalists will be informed before the event.
e. The selection committee selects a winner out of the finalists, after having attended the presentation of the paper at the event.
f. The award is presented pat the closing ceremony of the conference.
The IFAC secretariat will prepare a standard certificate in an appropriate IFAC style, leaving room for a local logo/graphic of the particular event. The winner as well as all finalists are provided with a certificate The conference organizers are recommended to make a monetary prize available for the award winner.
